Section two
The Toolbox
Two tools, both intentionally lightweight. They are starting points, not quotes.
The savings estimator takes your zip code, square footage, and current heating fuel, and returns a back-of-envelope read on annual cost and CO2 savings. The numbers come from public sources. The real answer depends on your house, your contractor, and your utility rate. The estimator is honest about that.
The readiness quiz is five questions, mostly about your situation rather than your house. It returns a single paragraph that points you at the three primer pieces most likely to matter to you. It is the fastest way to find your starting point if you do not have one.
A heavier calculator is coming. These two will do for now.
